Project Logistics & Booking

Do I need to move my furniture and empty cupboards, or do you handle that?

For interior painting projects, please move small breakables and clear work surfaces where possible. However, we are more than happy to help move heavy furniture items, and we provide high-quality protective sheeting for everything that remains. For kitchen cabinets painting, cupboards should be emptied of food and crockery before we arrive to ensure a dust-free environment for the finish. Should I provide the paint myself or should the decorator supply it?

We strongly recommend that we supply the paint. As professionals with 32+ years of experience, we have access to high-performance trade-grade materials that offer superior coverage and durability compared to standard retail paints. By letting us supply the materials, we can guarantee the quality and longevity of the final finish. [Read more: Trade vs. Retail Paint – Why it Matters ]

Are you fully insured and do you provide a warranty on your work?

Yes. Superior Property Maintenance & Improvements is fully public liability insured for all residential and commercial projects. Furthermore, we stand behind our craftsmanship; Nathan provides a guarantee on all labour, and many of the premium trade paints we use carry manufacturer warranties of up to 10 years for your peace of mind.

What is the current lead time for a painting project?

Our lead times vary depending on the season and the scale of the project. Generally, we recommend booking 4 to 8 weeks in advance, especially for exterior work during the summer months. However, we occasionally have smaller windows available for single-room refreshes. Please contact us for our latest availability in your area.

How long will my kitchen be “out of action” during a painting project?

A professional kitchen cabinet painting project typically takes between 5 and 7 working days. We work efficiently to ensure your kitchen remains functional for as long as possible. The doors and drawer fronts are often finished off-site or in a protected area to minimise disruption, meaning you can usually access your appliances each evening. Is it actually cheaper to paint cabinets than to replace them?

Yes, significantly. Choosing a professional spray or hand-painted finish typically costs a fraction of a full kitchen refit while delivering a “brand new” look. It is a cost-effective, sustainable way to modernise your home without the weeks of construction mess. [Read our Deep-Dive: Kitchen Painting vs. Replacement Costs ]

Exteriors

What is the best month to book an exterior house painting project?

In the UK, the optimal window for house exterior painting is between April and October. This ensures the dry, temperate conditions (above 10°C) required for masonry and woodwork paints to cure correctly and provide a long-lasting protective seal. Investment & Pricing

How much does a professional painter and decorator cost in Leicestershire?

Because every home and surface condition is different, we do not offer a flat “per room” rate. Instead, we provide bespoke, fixed-price quotes based on the level of preparation required, the size of the space, and the materials used. This ensures you only pay for exactly what your home needs.
